Overview

Trek to Langtang Valley is one of the most sought for treks after EBC and ABC. The name ‘Langtang Valley’ is given after the name of Himalayan range and Langtang National Park.  This is a short and easy trek that takes you closer to the snow White Mountain peaks and through beautiful valleys and dense rhododendron forests. Mostly we will have to do uphill climbing through narrow and rocky trails. The trek can be arduous but the charm of natural beauty around will lure you to the place. We move through dense forests in the national park region where you might have a chance to spot some wild animals like musk deer, red panda, wild dogs and monkeys.

There are very few settlement areas and sparse vegetation when we reach the higher altitudes. People rear yaks for dairy products and there are also cheese factories in the region. We can see people transporting goods through donkeys and mules as there is no transportation available and no proper roads built. Mostly Mongolian tribes like Tamang and Tibetan population reside there. People are mostly involved in hotel business sector. There are stone built teahouses, lodges and restaurants at different resting places. We take rest, have our lunch and stay for the night at tea houses along our way. The teahouses are built around the region to cater to the visitors.

The Langtang village was completely destroyed during the massive earthquake of 2015.   We still can see the rubble of the destroyed village and broken bridges and hills destroyed by landslides during our trek. But people have built new hotels and tea houses a little farther and in the safer area. The Langtang region is completely safe for trekking and the tourists have started flowing to the place like before. The mesmerizing natural beauty of the valley and snow capped mountains will surely give you an amazing experience. The view of mountains, hills, river and valley seen from the top of Tserko Ri and Kyanjing Ri is the best of all. We assure you one of the best experiences in your life through this trek to Langtang Valley.
